Business mogul Earvin “Magic” Johnson is entering a new multi-billion-dollar competition: the SimWin metaverse.
The legendary Lakers point guard has acquired an American soccer and basketball franchise in the e-sports league, SimWin Sports. The owners of the virtual sports league SimWin Sports include some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment (among other owners: Penny Hardaway, Jerry Rice, Marshall Faulk, LaMelo Ball or Mike Singletary…). The game is based on NFTs that allow to buy, sell and draft players. The games are then simulated and the players can earn money… in the long run. Johnson has made significant investments in this rapidly developing new trend, which is a combination of gaming, sports, Web3, and the metaverse.
Multiple revenue streams possible
According to SimWin, the eSports league is built on proprietary Web3 technology that goes beyond gaming by presenting opportunities for multiple revenue streams.
Magic and SimWin Sports aspire to create a sports metaverse that will provide entertainment to sports fans 7 days a week, every day of the year! SimWin uses an artificial intelligence-based player performance model, allowing each digital athlete to develop throughout the season and progress throughout their career generating the most accurate simulation of traditional sports. The goal for each player/investor? To create the next “meta-sport superstar”!
