Hotel Football: The Hotel Business According to Giggs and Neville

133 guest rooms and is positioned close to the stadium

Former Manchester United players Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville have opened a four-star hotel near the Old Trafford stadium that is completely devoted to the sport of soccer. The hotel has 133 guest rooms and is positioned close to the stadium. The slogan of Hotel Football: “Eat, Drink, Sleep Football”!

Ryan Giggs, a Welshman, played for Manchester United for many years, during which time he was a guest at a variety of hotels. As a result of these experiences, Giggs and his former teammate Gary Neville made the decision to launch their own business. To carry the ambitious project: GG Hospitality, a hotel management company created by the two former internationals, which has invested nearly 33 million euros for the construction of the establishment, opened in 2015. A second hotel, Stock Exchange Hotel, also in Manchester, completed the ex-players’ catalog.

A collective and generous project

Three former teammates of the team, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, also participated in the financing of the project and the communication campaign. The icing on the cake: the establishment has 133 rooms with a view of the Red Devils’ stadium… and a soccer pitch on the roof! There are also 11 meeting rooms, a fitness center and the “Football Café” where you can both eat and take cooking classes. Recently, during the hotel closures caused by the Covid-19 health crisis, the group’s hotels were made available free of charge to NHS health workers who were unable to live with their families during the pandemic. A generous gesture of more than 3 million pounds.
