Based in the UK and launched in 2016, “Let’s Do This” is a platform that allows athletes of all levels to register for sporting events… The startup, backed by Usain Bolt and Serena Williams, recently secured $60 million in funding.
Usain Bolt and Serena Williams invested $5 million in the seed round of the startup Let’s Do This from 2019. The process of finding sporting events and registering for races and competitions is frequently made difficult. Let’s Do This was established in 2016 by Alex Rose and Sam Browne with the intention of streamlining the process of finding the “perfect race” and making it simple to sign up for or attend one. Not only does Let’s Do This make competitions easier to get into, but it also provides assistance to athletes competing at any level. The platform now has over 5 million active users. It also allows event organizers to reach this engaged and active community of participants and endurance sports enthusiasts (running, cycling, swimming…).
Improve the UX
Let’s Do This makes it easy to find, book, and prepare for endurance sports events such as running, triathlon, cycling, and obstacle courses around the world and encourages physical activity, an issue dear to both former athletes. The new $60M funding is aimed at improving the user experience of the website and its applications. The company also plans to expand the social features of the app by adding new functions such as the ability for users to follow each other, discover new events based on their network and share their progress. The new funding will also be used to increase the company’s global workforce from 85 to 150 employees!
